This model is based on our best-selling long poly practice chanter, with the addition of an imitation ivory sole for a more traditional appearance.
The imitation ivory sole provides a clean, classic finish at the base of the chanter while retaining the balance, durability, and consistency of our standard long poly design.
Like all Gibson practice chanters, it is designed to be treated as a complete instrument rather than a disposable training tool.

I admit I have nothing to compare to since this is the first and only practice chanter I have owned, but so far, so good. Tone quality seems decent, and the instrument seems to be well made. I appreciated the relatively quick shipping so I could finally embark upon my piping journey.
