Gibson Child-Size Practice Chanter

Our Child-Size Practice Chanter is designed for younger players who need a shorter overall instrument without changing the fingering, hole spacing, or reed chamber used across the Gibson practice chanter line.

It uses the same regular-length lower section and standard Gibson finger-hole spacing as our other practice chanters. The top section and reed chamber remain the same as our standard models; only the mouthpiece is shortened to reduce the overall reach to the player.

This is an important difference from many shorter practice chanters. Because the reed chamber is unchanged, the reed is able to function in the same environment as it does in our regular and long models, helping preserve the response and playing characteristics Gibson practice chanters are designed around.

Every Gibson practice chanter now includes our new Moisture-Control Top as standard. The removable mouthpiece helps manage moisture during regular practice, while the open internal design avoids adding noticeable airflow resistance and preserves the familiar response and playing characteristics of the Gibson practice chanter line.
